Last year we saw a lot of toned-down looks, with more simple silhouettes and minimal details taking over bridal fashion. This came as no surprise as many brides were having minimonies and at-home weddings, which called for more casual wedding dresses. But, for 2022, trends are going back to their glamorous and eye-catching roots! From detachable sleeves to cascading ruffles, brides are looking to make a statement. Detachable Items
Transitional wedding dresses are making a name for themselves this Bridal Fashion Week. Not only do they give you a reception bridal look for no additional cost, but they also allow you to incorporate trends into your wedding dress that can be added or taken off throughout the day. Lazaro opted for some detachable puff sleeves (another trend this year) that are the perfect statement piece. Whether you go with a detachable sleeve, bow, or even an extended train – these detachable items can easily transition your bridal look from classic to romantic or vice versa!

Corsets
A trend we predicted for 2022 brides – corsets. After seeing this trend take over NYFW, it was only a matter of time before it became popular in the bridal industry as well. This Bridgerton-esque, Regency-inspired trend is perfect for a bride looking for a cottagecore, vintage bridal look. Designer, Eisen Stein, went with a traditional exposed boning, corset bodice for a timeless, romantic look. But, corsets can be adapted for every bridal style whether you want a more traditional corset or a corset with striking details like illusion panels or appliques.

Cut-Outs

It wouldn’t be Bridal Fashion Week without a few ruffles! Ruffles on a wedding dress are a staple when it comes to bridal fashion, but for 2022 they’re taking on a more romantic twist. Cascading ruffles are the new take on this classic trend, adding a dramatic touch to simple silhouettes. Designer Theia went with an asymmetrical, cascading ruffle sleeve that gives some dimension to an otherwise simple gown. There are so many fun ways to incorporate this trend into your bridal look from an asymmetrical ruffled skirt to a one-shoulder cascading sleeve.
